Wishing Tree

Schläft ein Lied in allen Dingen,
die da träumen fort und fort
und die Welt hebt an zu singen,
triffst du nur das Zauberwort.

Wishing Wand

A song’s asleep in everything
And it dreams on and on,
And the world begins to sing,
Once you hit the magic tone.

PS: The German original poem is talking about using “the magic WORD”. In my view, it is an important detail because “magic words” have been a frequent theme of Eichendorff.

Which kind of words are your magic words?
